SEAoO's committees are the driving force behind our organization's initiatives and professional advancement activities. Staffed by volunteer members, these focused groups manage everything from educational programming and conferences to sustainability efforts. General Information:SEAoO promotes Structural Engineering at Ohio's Universities. We'd like our members to be involved with students at all Ohio Universities with Civil and Structural Engineering programs. We currently have active chapters at the following schools:

Education Award:SEAoO is excited to announce that this year the Structural Engineering Association of Ohio (SEAoO) is funding Education Awards to a total of $5,000! Available Education Awards include:
SEAoO is changing up our competition for 2026 by switching from paper reports to a new video presentation format! Based on feedback from recent graduates, we are experimenting with video submissions this year. Students will prepare an 8 to 10 minute presentation on a structural engineering topic which will be uploaded by March 31st. Complete details are included with the attached application. E-mail completed application by Friday, February 27, 2026 to [email protected] . Below you will find the application and winning papers from previous years. The papers are provided to give students a taste of the caliber of topics SEAoO judges are looking for in the video presentations. 2026 SEAoO Education Award Application Progressive Collapse Parking Garage Case Study Welded Unreinforced Flange - Welded Web Modeling and Analysis of Deep Beam using IDEA StatiCa Software Site Visits:Do you have an exciting project that is under construction that you can't wait to share?
