Joint SEAoO | AIA - Court & Walnut Tower Tour & Presentation  (1.5 PDH)

This project is a partnership between Kroger, 3CDC, North American Properties, Northpointe Group, and Rookwood Properties.  Construction is underway on the 18-story mixed-used development.  The project will include a full-service 45,000 SF Kroger grocery store on the first floor, a restaurant/bar and wine/beer sales on the second floor, a 560-space parking garage, and 139 market rate apartments. Construction is scheduled for completion by September 2019.

The structural system is a cast-in-place concrete frame with concrete shear walls as the lateral system. The parking and residential floors are two-way post-tensioned flat plates, and the retail floors are two-way mildly reinforced flat slabs to give Kroger more flexibility for penetrations, equipment, etc. Parking levels 2-5 have a helical shaped ramp outside of the main building footprint while levels 5-10 have a split slab system allowing cars to reach the other levels within the footprint of the building.
