Presentation #1:  A review of structural steel behavior at elevated temperatures, background on fire testing requirements, and the various passive fireproofing materials available for structural steel construction, including Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Materials, Intumescent Coatings, and Rigid Boards.

Presentation #2:  New Storm Shelting requirements.  Learning Objectives:

  1.      Become familiar with the ICC 500 requirements for storm sheltering construction.
  2.      Gain an understanding of both the wind speed and missile testing criteria necessary to comply with IBC 2015 and the ICC 500 requirements for tornado sheltering.
  3.      Gain an understanding of the masonry options available for tornado sheltering design and construction.
  4.      Become Familiar with the impact of the ICC 500 wind loads on building layout, design, and detailing
