Presentation Topic:

When a project calls for a metal building system, design responsibilities are usually divided between the manufacturer and the design professional or EOR.  Therefore, a clear understanding of their respective roles, as well as coordination, and communication are crucial for success.

This presentation will cover what a metal building system is and how they have evolved over the years, focusing on the details of interest to an EOR working on a metal building project.  It will also provide guidance on specifying a metal building system and the important things for an EOR to know when providing this important service to a building owner.  Some general guidance on designing a foundation for a metal building project will also be provided.
